Engineering, System Engineering, and Process Engineering Support

A SteedPetro professional expertly served as the Engineering Department Head for Southeast Regional Maintenance Center, Field Ship Repair Activity, Jacksonville, FL.  This team member also served as the Department Head and Technical Leader responsible for the planning and technical issue resolution for all ship maintenance and modernization within the area of responsibility of Southeast Florida.

The SteedPetro Team provided design, site engineering and turn-key construction of petroleum storage and dispensing facilities, including environmental engineering of base related fuel facility infrastructure.

The SteedPetro professional provided technical and programmatic support to NAVSEA 05D5, the in-service surface combatant engineering directorate across all ship classes to include CG-47, DDG-51, FFG-7, LCS-1, LHA/LHD, LPD/LSD, MCM, and PC. These efforts included working closely with the Littoral Combat Ship Program Office. An ACAT 1 Program, while supporting the LCS-1 SDM in capturing a programmatic approach to systematically address technical issues that remain at the end of the acquisition process. This work also supported all ship design managers for work package analysis and technical adjudication. Additionally, this work supported the maintenance and modernization efforts through liaison with PMS 400F, PMS 470, SURFMEPP, and the reliability centered maintenance directorate, NAVSEA 04RM.

SYSTEM DESIGN DOCUMENTATION AND TECHNICAL DATA SUPPORT

The SteedPetro Team has developed detailed technical data documentation, including work packages necessary to support system development, configuration, integration, and installation of systems deployed in Navy ships.

SYSTEM SAFETY ENGINEERING

Members of the SteedPetro Team have performed in many areas of Navy ship design and operations where safety is considered in all aspects of ship performance and operations.  A team member has served as the Missiles/Officer/Electrical Officer USS HALSEY (CG-23). In this capacity the member was responsible for the operation and readiness of the missile, associated radar, automated missile safety systems, and all electrical systems onboard a highly complex platform. Additionally, the member led and supervised a crew of 47, and managed an operating budget of over $10M/yr.

CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT (CM) SUPPORT

A SteedPetro professional was the Project Officer for all aspects of private shipyard repair for Navy ships, including planning, execution, funds administration, and engineering oversight to identify, document, and verify performance and physical characteristics of systems, to control changes, and track actual configurations of systems and platforms of the USS JARRETT (FFG-33), and other Navy vessels.

LOGISTICS SUPPORT

The SteedPetro Team has extensive experience in designing and implementing acquisition logistics as a function of turn-key design, development, production, fielding, and life cycle management of Navy ships, and major command, control, and computer information installations and upgrades. For example, a SteedPetro professional served as a Senior Program Analyst for OPNA N81where he was responsible for ship maintenance, logistics support, ship operations, and acquisition programs and a budget of over $7B/yr.

SUPPLY AND PROVISIONING SUPPORT

The SteedPetro Team takes pride in its capability to supply Navy distillate fuels, ground fuels, and aviation jet fuels on an as needed basis. We ensure that products are properly transported and stored, and inventories are managed in a cost effective manner to sustain supported systems. Currently our ground fuels support over 700 service stations and c-stores.

Additionally, our lubricants, greases, oils, and fluids manufacturer (ISO 9001 :2008 Certified), has offices in 5 states, 3 manufacturing facilities in the U.S., 35 warehouses in 22 states, customers in 50 states and 15 countries. The company manufactures over 1200 petroleum and chemical products.

TRAINING SUPPORT

The SteedPetro Team conducted training and certification for junior Navy engineers, as well as training in a variety of subjects for both enlisted personnel and commissioned officers.

IN-SERVICE ENGINEERING, FLEET INTRODUCTION, INSTALLATION AND CHECKOUT SUPPORT

A SteedPetro Team member has served as the Program Analyst for the Capabilities and Assessments Branch, Chief of Naval Operations Branch (OPNAV N81), for ship maintenance, ship operations and acquisition programs totaling over $7B/yr.  He worked with three ACAT I Program Offices, to support Navy wide analysis positions for the DDG 51, LHD 8, LHA 6 and LPD 17 shipbuilding programs.  He successfully performed independent assessments, congressional justifications and strategic planning for mission requirements across the Department of the Navy programs for the Chief of Naval Operations.

PROGRAM SUPPORT

A SteedPetro Team Member served in the office of  the Deputy Director of Fleet, Business and Financial Management Division, Program Executive Office Ships, Washington, D.C. where he was a Senior level manager responsible for leadership, strategic planning, programming and execution of $10B/yr budget across 21 programs, 17 personnel and service/production contracts totaling over $1B/yr.  He monitored cost and task evaluation on two major modernization programs, CG-47 and LHD midlife.  He also served as the COR on 2 planning yard contracts and a service contract totaling over $700M.  He performed contract modification assistance, technical instruction tracking, non severable tasking analysis and award fee input.  He provided program leadership with the status of all action items, tracked all tasks, assessed risks, analyzed costs, and developed and presented recommendations to leadership for program execution.
